Arequipa Tour + Mundo Alpaca
After picking you up at your hotel at 8:30 am, we'll start a tour of the city of Arequipa. First, we'll visit the Cloisters of the Company, which used to be part of an 18th-century palace, nowadays used to house modern establishments under its arches.
We'll continue our tour of Arequipa by visiting the city's main viewpoints: Cristo Blanco, Los Volcanes and Sachaca. At the latter, you'll have the opportunity to taste the famous Arequipa queso helado (cheese ice cream) - a real treat for the taste buds!
Afterward, we'll walk across the Puente de Fierro bridge, designed by the famous Gustave Eiffel himself. From here we'll take in another beautiful view of the city and the volcanoes that surround it, and then head towards Plaza de Yanahuara, where we'll see the popular picanterías, traditional lunch spots.
Next stop? Mundo Alpaca! At this regional zoo, we'll get to see different specimens of this breed of camelids and see the different textiles that are made from their wool.
To conclude the visit, we'll go to the neighborhood of San Lázaro to learn about the origins of the city of Arequipa. Did you know that it was here that the first Arequipa church was built?
Finally, at 1:30 pm, the tour will conclude in Arequipa's Plaza de Armas.
