Indian Cooking Class & Dinner: what to expect?
Having been picked up from your accommodation in Bangalore, officially known as Bengaluru, you'll set off through the streets of the city, shortly arriving at the home of a local family. You'll be welcomed in with open arms, ready to spend an evening with new friends learning the secrets of the most typical southern Indian cuisine.
After enjoying a welcome drink, you'll begin your cooking class! Learn all about traditional ingredients as you prepare your dinner. First up will be the starter: have you ever tried a pakora? These delicious fritters are made from fried spiced onion and potatoes, with other ingredients often thrown in too. You'll also learn to make samosas, the crunchy triangular pastries filled with spicy potatoes and peas.
With the first course prepared, you'll move on to the main event. Create traditional vegetable dishes, discovering the best local spices to flavour and colour the curries, as well as rice and typical Indian breads.
No meal in Bangalore would be complete without a good dessert. Make Indian style rice pudding, known as kheer, flavoured with pistachios and raisins. And, for the finishing touch, gulab jamun, sweet dough balls soaked in sticky syrup.
Following your cookery lesson, you'll sit down with your hosts to enjoy the best part of the evening: eating all of your mouth-watering creations! The explosion of Indian flavours in your mouth is the perfect end to this authentic cultural experience.
Once you've eaten your fill, you'll be taken back to your hotel.
