Immerse yourself in the maritime history of Peru with this fantastic tour of Callao and the Real Felipe Fortress.
Tour Details
After picking you up from your hotel in Lima at the indicated time, we'll set off westbound for Calleo, where we'll admire some famous graffiti and galleries.
Our first stop will be at the Royal Felipe Fortress, a colonial bastion that stands as a symbol of resistance against the sea since the eighteenth century. As we walk, contemplating its solid stone walls, we'll pass by the Museum of Arms, the King's Tower, with its strategic views of the Pacific and the Governor's House.
A few steps away, we'll see a replica of the Casa de la Respuesta, an emblematic scene of the heroic act of Francisco Bolognesi, who promised to fight “until the last cartridge is burned”. In front of this residence, a sculpture pays tribute to the unknown soldier, reminding us of the anonymous courage of so many Peruvians.
Next, we'll head to La Punta, where we'll discover one of Callao's most picturesque and peaceful districts. We'll walk through its old streets, admiring the traditional mansions. It'll be like strolling through an open-air art museum where history and modernity meet! We'll also take a moment to relax and take in the Pacific Ocean and its coastline, the perfect way to close the tour on a calm and unhurried note.
Finally, we'll make our way back to the hotels in Lima, where we'll wrap up the tour 4 hours later.
