First, we'll travel to the Basilica-Cathedral of Our Lady of Altagracia, the most revered church in the Dominican Republic. This majestic temple in Higüey is one of the most visited cathedrals in the country, and represents a beacon of hope and unity that holds stories full of faith and tradition. Upon arrival, we'll walk along its sacred halls and admire its stunning architecture. You'll be completely stunned!
Afterward, we'll change our scenery and set off to the local market in Higüey, a place that will make you discover the vibrant rhythm of Dominican life. The colors, aromas, and sounds mix together in an environment filled with stands of fresh exotic fruits and unique crafts. During the tour, you can talk to vendors and be amazed by the sweet pineapples, creamy avocados, melons, watermelons, and papayas.
After this fun tour of Higüey, we'll head to a rural Dominican estate. From the first moment you step inside, you'll fall in love with the cozy ambiance of the house and its gardens. As you explore its charming corners, we'll offer you cookies and coffee or tea while sharing the estate's rich history. Dating back to the 1940s, this site was once a humble rural home. The story of its abandonment and how it was restored is an inspiring tale of family unity!
Once you have finished exploring all of the estate's facilities, you'll head to the dining room to enjoy a delicious Dominican-style lunch, featuring a main dish, a salad, a dessert, and a beverage. Yum!
