Whale Watching Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Sabana de la Mar and we'll begin our day trip filled with natural beauty. Ready to spot some whales in the Samaná Bay?
To do so, we'll make our way to the pier where we'll hop aboard a catamaran that will take us sailing through the Samaná waters, one of the best places in the Dominican Republic to see humpback whales. Throughout the boat ride, we'll get to admire these impressive mammals in their natural habitat, leaping over the waves, moving their tails, and singing.
After about 2.5 hours on the water, we'll return to dry land. The next part of this day trip will take us to Cayo Levantado. To do so, we'll head over to a speedboat on the Santa Bárbara Pier which, in a mere 15 minutes, will take us to an idyllic island. This dream-like location is the perfect spot to sunbathe and relax.
In Cayo Levantado, we'll re-energise with a delicious buffet-style lunch, featuring fresh seafood, rice, and tropical drinks. Enjoy!
With happy tastebuds and full bellies, we'll hop onto a catamarán once again to begin our journey back to Sabana de la Mar. Along the way, we'll top off this experience by watching an incredible sunset over Samaná Bay.
Lastly, we'll take you back to your hotel, where this day trip will come to an end after a total of 8.5 hours.
Tour + Visit to El Limón Waterfall
If you want an even more comprehensive experience, why not upgrade your day trip to include a visit to the famous El Limón waterfall?
In this case, after our whale-watching adventure, we'll return to dry land and go on an exciting drive in an off-roading vehicle to reach El Limón Waterfall. During the journey, we'll cross the tropical landscapes emblematic of the northern Dominical Republic as well as the different local communities that live in the area.
We'll venture into an estate and you can decide whether we continue our journey on foot along a path or on horseback. In both cases, once we reach the waterfall, you'll have some free time to admire this 40-metre-tall (131-foot) water feature and take a dip in the natural pool.
If you select this option, the day trip will be 10.5 hours long.
