Interested in discovering the natural beauty of the area of Topes de Collantes in Cuba? To do so, after picking you up from your hotel in Varadero at the designated time, we'll go on a nice 5-hour road trip. During the journey, we'll pass towns and valleys with lush vegetation.
Once we reach our first destination of the day, the El Cubano Natural Park, we'll dive into the island's lush jungle. Upon arrival, we'll embark on a 3-hour hiking route, walking on bridges that cross rivers and waterfalls.
Before you know it, we'll reach the park's largest waterfall, the Salto de Javira (Javira Point). Standing approximately 39.37 feet (12 meters) high, this waterfall flows into a stunning natural pool that's perfect for taking a dip and a well-deserved rest. After enjoying this natural environment, we'll start our journey back.
Then, it'll be time to indulge in a buffet-style grilled lunch at the Balcón del Caribe restaurant. After lunch, we'll head to the historic city of Trinidad. Once we arrive, we'll go on a guided tour of the Cantero Palace and discover the history of the third village founded by the Spanish Crown in Cuba.
We'll also explore the ostentatious mansion that houses the Cantero Museum. In each of its rooms, you'll embark on a historical journey, from the founding of Trinidad to the independence struggles, including the slave trade in the region.
You'll have an hour free in Trinidad to stroll around at your leisure and enjoy a cocktail at one of the town's terraces. Finally, we'll take you to Cienfuegos, where we'll make a stop at the Jose Marti Central Park, and you'll have 30 minutes of free time to take photos and appreciate the beauty of the historic centre.
Finally, we'll make our way back to the starting point, where we'll say goodbye after a total of 17 hours.
