Want to travel to the heart of the Inca Empire? On this complete day trip from Cusco, you'll explore the most spectacular landscapes of the Sacred Valley and discover why this region was the center of one of the most fascinating civilizations in history.
Day Trip Details
After picking you up at the location you chose during the booking process, we'll set off toward Chinchero, a picturesque village located just 40 minutes from Cusco. Here, we'll admire its 17th-century church, built upon Inca ruins.
Our next stop will be Moray, an impressive agricultural research center comprised of circular terraces that allowed the Incas to experiment with crops at different altitudes.
Afterward, we'll continue to the famous Salt Mines of Maras, a picture-postcard landscape of over 3,000 salt pans that have been in operation since pre-Hispanic times. After learning about its legend, we'll travel to Urubamba to enjoy an Andean buffet lunch featuring meat, chicken, fish, and soups.
Then, we'll visit Ollantaytambo, an Inca town that still preserves its cobblestone streets and imposing ceremonial temple. Finally, we'll arrive at the archaeological complex of Pisac, famous for its agricultural terraces and panoramic views of the valley.
Finally, after 12.5 hours of historical immersion, we'll say goodbye in the Plaza de Armas of Cusco.
