Venture into the deepest gorge found in western Peru on our hiking and abseiling activity in the Autisha Canyon. We'll set off from Lima and go on an exhilarating adventure!
Activity Details
After picking you up at the designated time in your preferred meeting point in Lima, we'll set off on a 3.5-hour road trip to the province of Huarochirí. We'll cross the spectacular Santa Eulalia Valley and arrive at the starting point for our adventure through the Autisha Canyon. Did you know it's the deepest canyon in this part of Peru?
Once we reach the closest farmhouse, located at the bottom part of the river, we'll prepare for a short and easy 15-minute hike that will take us to our starting point. Here, we'll put on our safety gear and listen to the necessary instructions to begin our first abseiling, where we'll dive into the natural tunnels.
The journey will continue with an exciting descent through six levels underground. Through stairs and a suspension bridge, you'll explore the canyon lit up only by our flashlights. The views will leave you breathless!
At the end of the trail, we'll admire an incredible natural gem: Shekel Waterfall. Afterward, you can put your bravery to the test by abseiling down the 90-foot-high (30-meter-high) canyon walls next to a waterfall!
We'll then continue our hike to make our way out of the canyon and head to the parking area to enjoy a delicious lunch. You'll be able to try typical Peruvian dishes before we begin our journey back.
To wrap up this activity, on the way back we'll stop at Santa Eulalia to try its famous homemade ice creams. What a way to end an unforgettable day!
Finally, we'll return to Lima and say goodbye at the meeting point after 13 hours.
